Finn has been suffering from a really bad cough for the last couple of weeks coupled with the inability to keep his feeds down the majority of the time .... not good news if you're a diabetic! Luckily the illness has raised his sugar levels so although he has lost the majority of his food it seems to have evened out his blood sugars rather than dropping them too low. However, his coughing has been ongoing especially at night and we were concerned about any infections that might develop so we took our first trip to the Children's Acute Assessment at Christchurch Hospital. A good check up, x-ray and 5 hours later we left. It seems that he has developed a chest infection so we are treating with a round of antibiotics but no need to stay in hospital this time luckily. Fingers crossed this will now see an improvement for the poor wee man and more sleep for mum and dad!!!!
We were very lucky to have our friends Liz and Paul look after Cameron and Ewan last night and today. The boys had a fantastic time playing with the Laverys and we joined them and our other friends Michelle and Gary for a BBQ before heading home with three tired boys. A huge thanks to Liz and Paul for giving us a break :o)
